Carpenters, the largest group of building trades workers, held about 1.2 million jobs in 2009. One third worked for general building contractors, 20 percent worked for special trade contractors and 12 percent worked in heavy construction.
Apprenticeship applicants must be at least 17 years of age and has to meet all the requirements to enter the trade. The length of a average carpenters schooling is any where from 3-4 years, it varies on the carpenters skill. |
